WHEN, WHERE, AND HOW MUCH IS KIDSGAMES THIS YEAR?
KidsGames 2024 is taking place June 24-28. There are two options for attending. Our Early Session is from 8:30 -11:30 am each day. Our Late Session is from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm each day. KidsGames Junior (for 4 years old through kindergarten) is only available during our Early Session. Both sessions take place on the Beachcities Church campus located at 9872 Hamilton Avenue in Huntington Beach. The cost is $135 per camper.
CAN I SIGN MY KID UP FOR BOTH SESSIONS?
No. Since this year’s sessions overlap, a camper can only be signed up for one session. You’ll need to choose either the early session or the late session for your camper.
WHAT IF I HAVE A FINANCIAL HARDSHIP?
We would like for all children who desire to participate in a week of KidsGames to have that opportunity. We can set up a payment plan or you can apply for financial assistance by emailing kidsgames@beachcities.org for a Campership Form and submitting it by no later than June 10th for consideration. Our camperships are need-based, so please fill out your form as accurately as possible. Once we have received your application, our leadership team will review and make a decision and will notify you by email as to the assistance you are requesting.
MY CHILD IS GRADUATING FROM 5TH GRADE THIS YEAR. CAN THEY STILL ATTEND KIDSGAMES?
We do not accept graduated 5th graders as campers. We recognize the grade the camper will be starting in the fall as their grade for camp. Which means a child that just graduated 5th grade is now a 6th grader, making them too old to attend camp. But you know what they can do? They can apply for a volunteer role! Volunteer spots for middle schoolers are limited, and applications are due by April 26. Visit our Get Involved section for more volunteer information.
TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE KIDSGAMES JUNIOR PROGRAM
KidsGames Junior is our program for campers 4 years old through kindergarten. Instead of choosing one elective for the week like our older Kidsgames campers do, KidsGames Junior campers experience a variety of sports and creative arts workshops incorporated into their program each day. In addition to things like Fun Games and Big Group, our KidsGames Junior campers get to enjoy everything KidsGames has to offer at a level more appropriate for their age group.
HOW ARE THE CHILDREN GROUPED TOGETHER?
Children in both age groups will be put into a guide group of 8-10 children with two “guides”–what you might call a camp counselor. Campers in our 1st-5th program will be grouped together according to their chosen elective. We completely understand the comfort and closeness of friendships and allow one mutual friend request. We will do our best to accommodate those requests, although we cannot guarantee to meet each and every request.
CAN I PUT MY KINDERGARTNER IN AN ELECTIVE WITH HIS/HER SIBLING IN THE 1ST-5TH GRADE PROGRAM?
Unfortunately, no. We have set up each program to be age-appropriate with activities and lessons geared toward the designated age group. Placing younger children in older groups changes the makeup of the entire group. We encourage parents to think of KidsGames as an opportunity for their young children to make new friends and grow in their comfort of new situations.
HOW CAN I BECOME A PART OF THE KIDSGAMES TEAM?
There are a variety of ways that you can join in all the fun as a KidsGames volunteer. Each summer, we need hundreds of volunteers to help make camp great. Whether you can commit to just one hour or to the whole week, there's a way for you to be involved. Check out our Get Involved page for more information.
DO YOU OFFER ANY SPECIAL DISCOUNTS?
We do not offer any special discounts.
WHAT CAN I DO IF I CAN’T HELP DURING CAMP WEEK?
We have a need for camperships as well as a list of equipment, supplies, and other items you or your business can donate. No matter the size, all donations are greatly appreciated! You can drop off any purchases at the Connect Bar or KidsGames Table at Beachcities during weekend church services. For more information, email kidsgames@beachcities.org.
WHAT CAN MY INFANT OR TODDLER DO WHILE I VOLUNTEER?
We do offer a free childcare program for children of KidsGames volunteers who are too young to attend camp while their parent is helping at KidsGames. More information is available at our volunteer trainings or can be found in our volunteer handbook.
WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS A PEANUT ALLERGY?
KidsGames is committed to having a peanut free campus. Parents are welcome to send a snack with their child if the child has food allergies and it is of concern. Please list all allergies on your child’s registration form.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?
Refunds will not be issued after June 14th as camp production begins. The funds will go to support KidsGames budget and production as well as any camperships that are needed. Please contact kidsgames@beachcities.org for assistance.
